Second #emmatalk Monday, June 15th, 17.00-18.30 CEST

Following the success of the first #emmatalk on Monday June 8, we are now looking forward to the next one! This second #emmatalk is also a special one as the three nominees for the emma2020 best paper award will present their papers. 

This year, emma received 31 full papers that were eligible for the 2020 best paper award. All of them have undergone blind reviews by five different scholars. The following papers are appointed as nominees (in random order):

Business Model Innovation in local journalism – how do local media managers perceive and recognize technical opportunities?

Authors: Per Ole Uphaus, Björn Beringer, Harald Rau from the Institute for Media Management, Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and Annika Ehlers from Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping University, Sweden

Markets, lower echelons and owners as brokers of coalitional attention

Authors: Mathilde Sanders-van Balkom, Hans van Oosterhout and Vareska van de Vrande, Rotterdam School of Management,  Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands

Finally, beyond the status quo? An analysis of steps taken to improve gender equality in the European audiovisual sector

Authors: Dilara Asardag from imec-SMIT, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium and Marlen Komorowski from imec-SMIT, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, & Cardiff University, United Kingdom  

The authors will present the most important insights from their work and participants are invited to engage in a Q&A session.

And….the winner of the emma 2020 Best Paper Award will be announced at the end of the session. 

The webinar will be moderated by Joaquin Cestino (emma conference host) and Päivi Maijanen (emma Deputy President). 

emma President Ulrike Rohn will open the event and announce the winner(s) of this year’s best paper award at the end of the event.
