Our Early Career Researcher emma Annual Conference Grant aims to support young researchers to get exposure and recognition for their work by enabling individuals to help present their work at an annual emma conference. Two grants of up to €1000 are available to allow the recipient to offset registration, travel, visa and accommodation expenses associated with attending the annual emma conference.
The grant recipients for #emmaMunich 2022 are Miriam Bernhard and Cristian-Ramón Marín-Sanchiz.

Miriam Bernhard is a research assistant and Ph.D. candidate in the group of Media and Communication Management at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (Germany) since April 2019. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Online-Media-Management and her Master’s degree in Crossmedia Publishing & Management at the Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart (Germany). In addition to her studies, she has already gained experience in various German media companies, such as DIE ZEIT, Condé Nast Germany, and Motorpresse Stuttgart. Furthermore, she is a spokesperson for MedienökonomieJR, a network for young academics in the field of media management and media economics. In her dissertation project, she explores how organisational learning about emerging technologies takes place in media organisations. Therefore, her main research interests lie in the areas of media management, organisational learning in media organisations, and emerging technologies.
Cristian-Ramón Marín-Sanchiz is a journalist and predoctoral researcher at the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche. His studies focus on freelance journalism and business models for news media companies, with a special focus on sports specialization. He has published in Spanish and international journals, such as Journalism Practice and Estudios sobre el mensaje periodístico. He currently teaches in the Journalism bachelor’s degree of the UMH itself and in the Master in Journalism Innovation, always on topics related to business management, entrepreneurship, and Social Media.
