Implementation of VR in the media: from journalism to media marketing. Lost opportunity or the chance of the future?

We welcome the following speakers:

Alexander Godulla: Full Professor at the Institute for Communication and Media Studies at Leipzig University. He is currently leading a research project on the change in media trust through deep fakes. He is also responsible for establishing a Living Lab on the topic of artificial intelligence within the European university alliance Arqus. At Leipzig University, he is involved in establishing the laboratory immerse!, which researches innovative storytelling, together with the Chair of Online Communication. In various publications, he addresses the question of whether and how virtual reality will establish itself in public communication.

Anna Jupowicz-Ginalska: Associate Professor at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at University of Warsaw. She specialises in media marketing and new technologies. Member of the Editorial Board in the Journal of Media Business Studies, Reviewers Board in Future Interne and Sustainability, Scientific Boards of Journalism and Media, Styles of Communication and Revista Multidisciplinar. Leader of the long-lasting project “FOMO. Poles and Fear of Missing Out”, the first representative study on FOMO in Poland. Member of the research project “Diversity Management as innovation in journalism” (POLS). Promotion practitioner skilled in media companies, PR agencies, local government and educational sector. 

Christian Zabel: Full Professor for Innovation and Corporate Management at Technische Hochschule Köln. His research focuses on production and distribution processes/structures in digital media (especially online video and virtual/augmented reality) and the digital transformation of (media) companies. Before, he headed the product management of t-online.de, Germany’s largest online publisher. From 2008 to 2012, he was executive assistant to Deutsche Telekom’s CEO René Obermann. Christian studied journalism in Dortmund and Brussels and holds a master degree in political science from Sciences-Po Paris and a Ph.D from Technical University of Dortmund.
