Barbara Eklöf from Jönköping University in Sweden has been on the Executive Board of our Association since its very beginning. Her contribution to emma has been exceptional, and her positive influence on both the organization of emma as well as on the spirit of emma has been far-reaching – and it went far beyond that of a Treasurer, the official role she has had on the Board. We are very sad that Barbara has to leave the Board. As a sign of appreciation for all of the hard and good work she has put into the growth, development and positive atmosphere of emma, we surprised her with the emma Outstanding Service Award at the Gala Dinner of our 2017 conference. This was the first time ever that we presented this award: As a very special person she deserves a very special award. Barbara has become a dear friend to many of us, and with her warm personality, she contributed so much to the welcoming atmosphere of our community. With this Award we want to thank her for everything she has done. We wish her all the best for the future – and we do hope our paths will cross again!
